It's the first time in my 16 years in Steam when I write a review, cause I have never seen that lvl of stupidity and unfairness from others before (maybe only on Crimson Desert launch). This game is good. Not just good, it's one of the best roguelikes I've played, with a very responsive, fun and fluid combat, great visuals (and I mean all of it, graphics it self, animations, very nice and distinctive style), great enemy design and divirsity in both visuals and gameplay, attacks are well telegraphed for all enemies, including bosses, great balance, a lot of ways to play thanks to a high amount of spells and their variations, good relics variations too, and great co-op, that allows you to combine builds with your partner pretty well, especially for Couch. And, yeah, basically, it's Coop Hades with weaker story, but more rich gameplay variety. Do u know a lot of Coop Hades-like games? There are two, this one and Sworn (which has better reviews, btw, but is waaaaay less polished then this one and with way responsive combat. Still a good game though) Now about stupidity: every complain you can read from negative review is straight up lie/misconseption. Let me say before breaking it down: I JUST COMPLETED FIRST GAME. Like 2 days ago and went into this one. It was a positive experience, but it had a LOT of problems. 1) There is meta progression, it's close to the first one: you unlock new outfits/amulets, spells and relics. Now here's a bad thing about BOTH WOL - relic unlocks are unituitive: u NEED to unlock available relics in order to get new ones to drop in general, and in the first game it was the ONLY meta progression u would have. There are less relics in the WOL2, they got rid from a lot of boring ones, like "+20% fire resist" (in a game, where you can't freely see who will you fight), or 10 versions of different "+armor", or "nerf x-type of enemy on this run", "spawn in a shop every floor (it is on a floor anyway and you will get there, 0 reasons to NOT clear stages) and made some fun new ones, like "a magic hand will fly alongside you and shoot fireballs). They did nerf some of the broken ones from a first game too (which maybe did upset some cheesy no skill guys too?) Aside from that, in WOL2 there are also modificators, which you have to unlock and upgraid and they will permamently make you stronger, and if the game got too easy for you - it's possible to ramp uf difficulty with negative modificators. 2)Comparing to a first one. Oh boy, where to start. I did touch relics already, so: Spells: there are indeed less spells, but 70% of spells from a first one were ♥♥♥♥, that you unlocked pretty fast and never used, cause others from a same element and category were simply the same but better. It was also a trap, cause a player obviously wants to unlock new tools to play aka spells, but in reality spells with double the price didn't make you stronger, most of them are, again, bad, no way to sort them and you lose a lot of gems to unlock them, when you actually had to go for relics. All available spells in WOL2 are very distinct, has their use, has way more fun upgraids during run and work better with each other. Enemies and difficulty: WOL2 has more bosses, boss fights are well balanced, fair and a lot of fun, and feels different in every run, even if you encounter same boss (looks like they have different "phases" and amount of attacks depending on which region you encounter them, but I might be wrong and they just behave differently from time to time). Meanwhile bosses in WOL1 were scripted as hell. More enemy variety, way better designed enemies,, now you can actually see what are they doing and dodge their attacks, encounters feels more fair, map hazzards are not as big pain in the ass as it was (mostly pits and their placements, I hated every minute in wind domain in WOL1) and now have more variety of traps. I have no idea why people cry about difficulty in here, I didn't see any hard diff spikes, and any problem with d
